INTERVIEW WITH A TURK LIVING ABROAD… INTERVIEW BY ESRA ÖZ
This interview about living in other country.she is my cousin and living Germany ;
1)What are the difficulties of living on the foreign soils?
1) You have to fit in with natives and their culture. You reluctantly miss your family as all in all you are living in another country and any moment you are wishing to be with them. Also you are having great difficulty in learning a language. In school you learn Germany’s feast ,not my feast:(
2)You was born in there and you know their language.So what kind of difficulties did your parents come acroos when they moved to there? How long did it take your parents to get accustomed to?
2)Actually it is not that hard learning a new language. You are getting used to speaking what they speak necessarily. For instance, it took my mother about one year to learn a new language. But It is really hard to communicate with others and make yourself understood if you can’t speak well.
3)Well of course there are some profits of living in another country. Can you clear it up?
3)Sure. First of all, I am capable of speaking two languages. I have a right to determine to be dual citizen. If i study in an university and am a Turkish citizen, then they provide me convenience. I don’t need to take an educatian in university aswel as turkish citizens do. And also you have a right to enter the clasrooms with headscarf.
4)How do you feel like when you go on holiday in Turkey? Did the people seem different to you?
4) I feel like I am at my own home. Of course it is not like your own country. As all your relatives live in Turkey, it gives you different emotions. But when it comes to go back, i fell pretty upset.
5)If you had any chance, would you live in your own country?
5)Of course I would if I had chance. However, all my friends are here and if I had to go back to my country, I needed to run the risk of starting from scratch and starting a new life. And even worse, forgetting about all your friends is not easy as it seems.
6)Last question. Over there , did you find that the people behaved towards other people, or did you find that there was no difference in their behaviour?
6)It depends. on. Some try to tease you while others behave you like you are one of them. But you had better forget all about this discrimination.When making a new friend, you must not pick your friends according to race. Technically, some Germans behave in a different way to Turks who hang out with only Turkish people and look down on the Germans.This is why many fights heppen in public areas like train stations. But apperantly i haven’t any trouble with them. Germans behave in a normal way towards me.’’I WAİT YOUR COMMENT…’’
