Every day we hear about lots of different events that are happening around the world: recession, wars, globalization and the difficulties of countries where life is really a struggle for existence.

Are we really able to understand?

Sometimes we are, but not always. I think that if we are not able to understand fully, it does not depend entirely on us, but on factors that make these situations seem far from us, even if we are involved in every single event.

Why are we involved? We are involved because we are part of the world, and being part of the world means to be part of every single community.

Do we know what can change our lives?

Everything can change my life today. Global recession, wars, international political events (such as the war between Israel and Palestine, the conflict in Syria, the re-election of Obama as U.S.A. President but also the next Italian elections in February) can change my future., and the reason why it can happen is Globalization. This word means the process of international integration arising from the exchange of world views, products, ideas, and other aspects of different cultures, but it includes also the spreading of the characteristics of a particular kind of society. Today this society is the Western one, which is industrializing and exporting its politics, economy and ideas all over the world.

Thanks to this we can decide to study abroad, we can work wherever we want and fulfill  our dreams in every place on earth. Doing this we can be involved in situations that now may seem very far from us.

We have to understand that our life does not depend only on us but also on the reality that surrounds us. Every day we see people who fight for their rights (like the Arabian women who are fighting for their political rights), lose their jobs (and this is the reality of the majority of the European nations), and struggle, or – even worse – we hear about people who lose their lives in conflicts caused by political or religious contrasts just like  is happening in some countries of the Middle East.

I try to understand and I perceive that all these things are changing my life, the interest in what is happening in the world is making me grow and is enriching me.

I believe that understanding the positive things but also the problems that surround us, can make us better and can let us understand for the very first time that WE are the future.
